Here’s the scoop…
The current Senate Majority Leader has introduced a bill into the NC legislature to repeal the “Amazon tax” effective back to January 1, 2009.
Basically, it eliminates the language saying that retailers who earn more than $10k from affiliates in the previous four quarters meet the nexus requirement and must pay sales tax.
So, we may have a second shot at this thing. And of course, a repeal in NC could dramatically impact the passage of similar legislation in states where it’s still being considered.
If you want to help fight for its repeal or just follow what happens, I’ll be sending out emails about the affiliate tax repeal efforts–sign up to get the updates!
